“Why on earth are we not tracking vitals underwater?”

How it all started

The idea of divePRO was born in 2017, during apnea training with a couple of friends in Evia, Greece.

We wanted to learn how to go deeper, hold our breath longer and keep each dive safe.

To our surprise -those who are familiar with apnea can confirm- one of the most important lessons is that holding your breath underwater is more of a mental challenge than a body trick or breathing hack (and I was honestly hoping it wasn’t!).

When the average person feels like they’re drowning, they have approximately consumed 10% of their oxygen.

So, there is plenty left.

And that’s what the challenge is: to learn to stay calm and understand what your body is telling you.

But how do you keep track of that?

You wait for the first diaphragm spasm, while the feeling of drowning slowly kicks - an exercise that seemed impossible to me.

So I asked myself:

“Is there no device that measures your SpO2 underwater so you know where you are at? I cannot just rely on counting my diaphragm spasms!”

But there was none.

The rest is history.

This is only the beginning

When we dive, we want to enjoy the environment and not keep focusing on our equipment.

We started with open water scuba gear because it gives the largest community of divers access to this technology first. With the same approach, we will move on to technical diving, snorkeling and apnea where understanding the body's response can become another vital layer of information.

We focus and will always focus on providing the means to divers that will make each dive easier, safer and more fun.

For me, it goes back to being twenty meters underwater, looking up and wondering
